Comm Commercial is proud to announce a major refurbishment project win in Sheffield, involving the complete overhaul of a large industrial facility. The project includes extensive roofing and façade works, significantly improving both the structure’s performance and appearance.
At the heart of the job is the replacement of the existing 12,000m² pitched roof. We’re stripping back the ageing roof and installing new Kingspan composite panels, along with a revised rooflight layout designed to optimise natural light across the building.
The scope also includes 2,000m² of flat roofing works. These involve overlaying existing felt roofs and replacing sections where damage had occurred, ensuring long-term integrity and improved thermal performance.
Works extend to the rear canopy, where we’re carrying out cut edge corrosion treatment, replacing rooflights and applying protective gutter coatings to prevent future issues and prolong the system’s lifespan.
Perhaps the most striking element of this refurbishment is the re-modelling of the building’s elevations. We’re delivering a fresh, modern look with a mix of rainscreen systems and additional Kingspan composite panels — a transformation that’s as visual as it is practical.
This project is being delivered in close partnership with Gordian Building Solutions and Proteus Facades, who we’re proud to be working alongside to ensure top-spec materials and expert technical input throughout.
“This is a brilliant project to be involved with,” said Mike Ward, Managing Director at Comm Commercial.
“It plays to our strengths – large-scale roofing, complex façade works and tight coordination across multiple trades. Working with Gordian and Proteus gives us real confidence that the end result will be something to be proud of.”
This is another great example of Comm Commercial’s ability to deliver large-scale, complex refurbishments with precision and professionalism – and we look forward to sharing progress as the job unfolds.
